MAIDEN, the 58ft yacht skippered by Tracy Edwards MBE and her all female crew in the Whitbread Round the World race some 27 years ago is being restored to its former magnificence, with the support of AkzoNobel’s yacht paint brand, International.

The celebrated yacht was found abandoned by Tracy in the Seychelles back in 2014, having changed ownership several times over the years. After securing the funds to rescue her, Maiden was brought back to the UK in April 2017 by Tracy, where she was met by seven of her original all female crew and accompanied to Hamble Yacht Services for a year long refurbishment project.

The team from International has been involved in the project since May, providing guidance and support to the restoration team, as well as supplying its paints to help return the iconic vessel to its former glory.
