Sailors can take part in many different styles of racing, and while many people choose modern boats which need little maintenance, for others part of the fun is in doing up and fettling their boats.

Sailing appeals to various age groups, and can be enjoyed by many minorities within the population. This month we look at some events which typify dinghy sailing’s rich variety.
